Join us this 20-22 June as we offer, for the first time ever, the successful INSEAD Global Business Leaders Conference series back-to-back with the first European edition of the INSEAD Alumni Forum.

Held in Lisbon, Portugal, at the historic Penha Longa Resort, the events will bring more than 300 alumni, business leaders and policy-makers from Europe and beyond to network and debate the future of “European Competitiveness”.

Global Business Leaders Conference, 20 June 2014
Kicking off with the Global Business Leaders Conference on Friday, this fifth installment of the conference will offer a broader perspective of the European business landscape. Discussing within the context of the latest research from the INSEAD European Competitiveness Initiative, the half day conference features preeminent speakers from business and government such as Pedro Passos Coelho, Prime Minister of Portugal (invited), Jan Muehlfeit, Chairman, Microsoft Europe, Thierry Breton, CEO, Atos and leading academics from INSEAD. Topics discussed include European macroeconomic policy, Finance, and Talent building and retention. This event is open to the wider INSEAD community of business, government and media executives.

INSEAD Alumni Forum Europe, 21 June 2014
The next morning join INSEAD alumni from business leaders to entrepreneurs as they focus on the macroeconomic aspects of European businesses and look at how competitiveness can be improved through creative strategies and adopting world-class business practices. Senior alumni and faculty lead the debate via panel discussions on globalisation, strategic collaboration and entrepreneurship. Run and organised by the INSEAD Alumni Association Portugal, the forum will be company-focused and open to INSEAD alumni, guests and non-alumni business executives globally.

Plenty of networking opportunities will be available during the Conference and Forum, from networking cocktails, lunches and breaks, to the wide variety of social activities planned around these event on Saturday and Sunday.

Activities include cultural sightseeing day tours around Lisbon and Sintra, rally race car driving, acrobatic plane rides, a golf tournament at the renown Penha Longa championship golf course and informal dinners. From leisurely strolls to adrenaline pumping action, we are sure you will be charmed by the magic of Portugal.

We dedicate this weekend of intense intellectual debate, discovery, and friendship, in honour to the life and work of the late António Borges (1949-2013), Dean of INSEAD from 1993 to 2000 and one of the most successful Portuguese economists.
